Recently my wife and I had the pleasure of using the services of Tony Curreri to purchase a home on Lake Greenwood. Tony placed us on an e-mail list from which we received updates, almost daily, on all new listings and changes to existing listings that matched our interests. This greatly reduced our workload as we did not have to do extensive MLS searches. Over the course of 5 months we looked at numerous properties and homes all over the lake. Tony always seemed to find a way to become available when ever we needed him, sometimes with very little notice. He never pushed his ideas on us, but instead opened doors and sat back to let us form our own opinions. He was straight forward and honest in answering all of our questions, and was very prompt in getting back to us with information he did not immediately have.

Tony was an even greater asset after we found our home. He handled everything from negotiations all the way to signing the paperwork. Even with all of the pitfalls that occurred during closing, and we had our share, Tony kept everything moving forward and not a date was missed. He also set up the appointments necessary for the inspections and surveys. We closed in 3 weeks! Tony even allowed me to “vent” on a couple of occasions without letting it affect our relationship.

My wife and I have had several bad experiences with past realtors, and have a somewhat sour taste for the industry. We had a wonderful experience with Tony Curreri. My wife Lauren and I began to visit Greenwood and the lake in early 2008. We were from the NYC area and knew no one in the area. Lauren had grown up in New Providence and we had lived and raised our family there for the last 30 years. We were referred to Tony through a sister real estate company office in our hometown.

The prospect of moving to the lake area represented an enormous change in lifestyle for us and would also represent a big investment, financially and emotionally for our family. We immediately felt comfortable when we learned that Tony and his family had moved from California to the lake, when they could have gone anywhere in the country. In fact it had been a bigger decision for Tony and Lisa since their children were still in school. Ours were grown and out of the house. It allowed us to discuss our concerns and the challenges of such a move with someone who understood.

Tony’s empathy for our situation and his thoughtfulness allowed us to have discussions on a very different level than you would with the average real estate agent. We quickly came to trust Tony’s judgment and felt that we were partners in this decision. There was no question that he had our best interest at heart.

Tony demonstrated a thorough knowledge of the lake and the broader Greenwood community. He was extremely patient as we wrestled with the decision of whether to buy a home or buy a lot and build. He and Lisa had to make this same decision and thus knew the market and the issues very well.

Ironically, we did not buy on the lake but instead on the Saluda River a few miles south of the lake. Our relationship with Tony and Lisa continues and when our best friends from New Providence came to investigate the lake it was very easy to recommend that they work with Tony.
